M. Garnet has me hooked whether I like it or not. I seem powerless to resist buying these sci- fi books, even though the editing is so so. My main gripe with this on is it needs more to the story. Maybe like the storm planet books it will keep going. I hope so. But despite that my 4 stars are pleasure ratings..... The book pleased me that much!Product details

BRAE TER edition by M Garnet Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Brae Ter
Huge and blue, Brae Ter is captured when his ship crashes in Texas. He resists every effort of his captors on this backwards, barbaric planet to learn about him and his people. Until he senses her beyond the wall. Somehow, he knows that she is different from the rest, and when he finally meets her, he realizes that he must take her with him when he escapes.
Agneta has worked in cryptography for the CIA for some time when her superiors inform the entire office that all other projects are to be placed on hold until someone translates some strange symbols that have been found. Agneta, with her ability to see patterns where others cannot, is able to discover what the symbols were meant to do.
Since the alien refuses to communicate at all, they bring Agneta in, with her abilities and skills, to see if she can find a way to make him talk. When she meets his eyes and hears him speak her name she realizes that there is more to this great blue man than meets the eye.
Thus begins the adventure of both Brae Ter and Agneta’s lives.
I liked the story, the world that Ms Garnet has created is rich and full. I am not a big fan of erotica, and feel that the story and the special relationship between Brae Ter and Agneta could have been developed with it, but, the problem of what to do with a human woman who apparently completes you in a way that is rarely found in the entire universe is a common one that is handled in a fun and interesting way. This book is, however, for adults only!
Brae Ter is not a book without flaws, but I also found the world the author built to be very interesting. The story was enjoyable and interesting in a way that I wasn't sure what would happen next and wanted to keep reading. Brae Ter's personality comes out very slowly, but unfortunately even in the end, was not quite likable. I am pretty sure if I was Agie, I would have "freaked out" quite a bit more often. But Agie having a calm and logical personality was also believable. My greatest criticism of this book is that the author is in desperate need of an editor. The grammatical mistakes abound, but do not detract from the understanding of the subject matter. Overall I recommend this book as an interesting science fiction romance.
From the cover of this book, I expected some mystical sci-fi adventure, but what I got instead was a sexually charged romp through space with two fascinatingly mismatched characters that somehow manage to find common ground in their undeniable lust for one another. Big Blue Brae Ter and Agneta didn't initially grab me, as the descriptions at the beginning of the story are somewhat weak, but don't let that stop you! I pushed through and I think the author picked up steam (as the steamy scenes unfolded) and hit a sweet spot somewhere about 1/3 of the way through the story. Some of the dialogue was a bit forced and awkward, but I was able to deal with that because the creative inventions of the author and the backstory/premise were so intriguing. I love an author who can world-build, or at least culture-build, and Garnet's ability to make everything from space travel to teleportation seem as everyday as taking a bus to work. The atmosphere of the story was infused with tension and romance, but it wasn't tawdry or cheap. If you want a fun, sexy, and creative story by an author with a flair for excitement, then put Brae Ter near the top of your "To-Read" List.
I can honestly say I didn't expect this book to turn out as it did, but that certainly didn't stop me from enjoying it. Brae Ter and Agneta are extremely unique characters, and while the idea of a human meeting and falling in love with a large, blue alien (Avatar?) has been done before, Garnet took this story in a fascinating and exciting direction that kept me engaged and interested. I am not a big erotica reader, as I sometimes find it uncomfortable to read for extended passages, but the somewhat epic and simultaneously whimsical romance between these two characters was fun to follow and it didn't detract too much from the story. Saying that, I also don't think it added that much. There were distinctly different story arcs and they didn't necessarily play into one another as much as I had hoped. Obviously, the two protagonists' lives become interlinked, so in that sense, the plots are joined, but there wasn't enough of a purpose for the romance within the grander scope of the book. Perhaps that was the intention by the author, but I felt that she was trying to make more of a point then she ever achieved with the erotica and the main plot.
That being said, this is a quick, fun, and scintillating book that would be perfect for sci-fi lovers, as well as for those readers who want a bit of sex and spice in their page-turners. I could have done with slightly less erotica and a bit more space adventures with bluer aliens, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book, and Garnet's penchant for passionate prose will certainly not be forgotten anytime soon.
The book pleased me that much!
